ABOUT ME

Im a recent graduate of Ohio University with a double major in Global Studies and Political Science, and an Islamic Studies certificate. I've loved traveling since before I can remember, whether it was a 3 hour car ride up north to ski or a 15 hour plane ride overseas. Recently I volunteered at a refugee camp in Lesvos, Greece for those fleeing the crisis in Syria and neighboring countries and it has cemented my determination to work for human rights in the future. I met such amazing people there and it only makes me more excited to get out into the world more!

I've met and surfed with some amazing people, and I'm happy to return the favor at my place! I currently only have a public room available, but my two couches are all yours if you need them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only had one with a great guy in Britain that hosted my friends and I on our long layover and I'm looking forward to more!

Interests

Anything outdoors including(but certainly not limited to) skiing, rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, white water rafting, etc. There are several things my wallet hasn't let me try yet! I'm also very into music, learning new languages, cooking(and therefore eating), and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love any kind of action/mystery/drama movies, but the James Bond and Star Wars series hold a special place in my heart. I listen to pretty much anything from classical to indie to post-hardcore, I'm kind of all over the place with my music tastes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This past month I was able to volunteer at a refugee camp for those fleeing the crisis in Syria and neighboring countries. I was only able to be there a week since I was only on break from my studies but it was an intense experience and had a profound effect on me. It's made me even more passionate about human rights and protecting the amazing people around me and across the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am able to teach rock climbing, skiing, conversational English, and how to never go to sleep! I would love to practice my Arabic and even more languages if I can, and anything about other cultures is fascinating to me, whether its salsa dancing or eating sheep's heart in Morocco.
