I'm currently working on a Master's of Information Science at UNC Chapel Hill.

I love yoga and dance (any kind). I also love bookstores, travel, and quiet bars.
Mostly what I want from life is to meet as many new people as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met up with a friend from university in Vienna. Both of us were a little bit nervous, but the experience was beyond amazing. We were able to stay close enough to the center in order to see everything the city had, and our host even gave us great suggestions for food and drink, many were places were other students hung out. The trip thoroughly convinced me that I could CouchSurf again.

Music: The Who, The Mars Volta, Rush, Regina Spektor, Philip Glass, Pearl Jam, bluegrass, Jay-Z, Azealia Banks, Beyonce, Arcade Fire, Amy Winehouse, Lou Reed, Esperanza Spalding

Books: I read constantly. I've worked in an independent bookstore since I was 17, so I've amassed a collection of over 600 books. I have many favorites, and it's hard to even choose a handful to list. But here are some authors I adore: Virginia Woolf, Leo Tolstoy, Nikolai Gogol, Viktor Pelevin, Siri Hustvedt, Paul Harding

Movies: I'm honestly not that big into film, so I don't watch many movies but a few favorites include: Rocky Horror Picture Show, Pretty in Pink, Marie Antionette

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking around St. Petersburg at night with a few Russians I'd met a few hours ago. I learned more about the city and found it more beautiful at that extremely late hour than in the middle of the day.

Teach, Learn, Share

The most humbling and eye-opening experience, to me, is immersing oneself in a new language. You will learn so much and make a fool of yourself very often.
