About Me

The Short n Sweet:
Big tall guy from Colorado, always curious, loves music and art, loves just hearing all of your stories over a beer or tea or some other form of sustenance.

I write a lot and want to learn as much about you and your local culture as possible.

Underground music is one of my greatest pleasures — so if you like music I would love to go out to a concert with you.

I try to go with the flow as much as possible and just try to welcome as many new ideas into my life as possible.

The Nitty Gritty:

Hey y'all! I'm originally from Denver, but I lived in Sydney for a bit as a child, Switzerland for a wee bit of University, and now I've been living in Denmark for 6 years. I used to work as a writer and community manager for an app called Be My Eyes, but now I work for a travel show in the US. Aside from that, I like to write lil stories and other things on the side for myself.

I like to cook (and cook often) for many people, and also want to learn more about cuisines from around the world. If you like to cook let's share recipes!

I'm also addicted to all kinds of music but we can get into that later. Creativity keeps me moving, so I like playing music, acting, and writing whenever I get a free moment.

In terms of nature, I appreciate any quiet untamed place. Especially over this corona time, I've (re)realized how important it is for us to connect with nature, and connect with each other IN nature!

I've found that everyone has a story to tell and I just want to hear it all. I think we could probably solve all the world's problems if we just talked things over — So let’s hang out and talk about it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve met so many amazing people on this site and I just want to meet more! It's a great platform for backpackers and travelers that are curious about the world around them. Having the experience to share cultures, languages, and ideas are how we can make this world a more tightly knit, caring place.

I've hosted a few people and so far I really enjoy doing it. I'm just enjoying the fact that this app has put so many great people into my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to everything, and I kind of don't like the word 'genre' but here are a few of my favorite bands:

Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Ty Segall, Frankie & The Witchfingers, Dead Kennedy's, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Willie Colon & Hector Lavoe, Afrosound, Bomba Estereo, Manu Chao and a ton of other stuff.

I used to work at a punk bar in Aalborg. If you like live music, we can definitely go out!

My favorite book changes every week but some main ones are Walt Whitman’s "Leaves of Grass" along with "Beowulf". I've been reading a lot of Japanese literature recently, and whatever else I can get my hands on. You're welcome to take a book off my shelf for your travels!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fished with Checheniyans in a Norwegian fjord
Picked olives in Greece
Roadtripped the Faroe Islands
Studied abroad in Hong Kong
Survived 5 Danish winters and only went partially insane

I guess we'll get into more stories later!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing stories, music, and food with those that stay with me. If I'm hosting you, I can give you plenty of tips on what to see in Denmark. I've lived in Aalborg for about three years and also lived on the West coast of Denmark for six months. I also travel to Copenhagen a lot and can give you some recommendations there if you'd like.

If I'm staying with you, can you please let me know if anything musical is going on?

I've got Colorado Mountain Mouth, which means I speak horrible mushed up English so please tell me when I speak too fast or mumble too much for you. I'm happy to help out your English in any way. I can also teach you some basic Danish.

Tengo raices argentinas, y hablo castellano bastante bien pero tengo q practicar. Vamo pasar un mate y charlar un poquito!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A cozy conversation and chill time. I'm curious about you and your world shared over a beer or a cup of tea. I want to learn about your culture and country, and most importantly about you as an awesome person. If you are too busy, I am respectful of your time and just grateful to talk briefly when we have the chance.
