ABOUT ME

I am 22 years old next month and I am an easy-going Californian guy. I sit in coffee shops for hours. I like social science and seeing the "big picture. I can be critical in conversation. I am a minimalists in some ways. I am pretty active and like to work out a few times a week. I am healthy, but not vegan or anything. I enjoy the outdoors, and I love camping. I had gone to a military academy in my last half of high school, and the lifestyle showed me endurance, tolerance, patience, adaptability, teamwork, forming great friendships, and some other things that aren't as useful, like de-lacquering brass. So those are among the tools I have picked up since that experience. I also love stoic philosophy, and adhere to it whenever I remember to. I'll party once in a while. It'll be maybe a few beers, a round, maybe two, of beer pong, some light conversation, and I'm outta there.

But again, I'm very laid back. Very. I even talk sort of surf-y. And all-in-all, I am very interested in people and our world, and having fun. And I am damn lucky to be alive.

PHILOSOPHY

I love the schools of thought (the actual philosophies, by Socrates and whatnot). I try to live a life that is in accord with Stoicism, with some Epicureanism thrown into the mix, when I really feel like indulging in my self and opinions.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Again, I am completely new to this. I have a friend that just couch surfed in China through this site. He said it was a great experience. I plan to surf, and to host.

Ehhh...let's see....Wilco, Radiohead, The Morning Benders, Chet Baker, R.E.M., The Strokes, The Velvet Underground, and all kinds of other indie rock, adult contemporary, jazz, samba, Spanish acoustic guitar, bluegrass, punk rock, electronica, reggae, and other stuff.

Shoot, I guess I'll do books and movies later. The last movie I watched and enjoyed was I Heart Huckabess, and I just finished Marcus Aurelius' "Meditations."
