About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To empower other to live healthy, sustainable, and adventurous lives.

ABOUT ME

I was born in 1988 in St. Louis, MO.
From 2013 to 2017 I UNICYCLED through North and Central America. I have broken the world record for longest unicycle trip, and have actually doubled it. I rode well over 20,000 miles....on one wheel!

I wrote a children's book about the journey, and illustrated it entirely with MY FEET! Check it out, and get one for a youngster in your life today!

I am a very passionate and lively person. I'm an artist, writer, rock-climber, and cross-country unicyclist!

PHILOSOPHY

I am open-minded and fully accepting others' personal philosophies, but I'm most aligned with the easygoing-but-eccentric buddhist who believes in empowerment, healthy eating, environmental stewardship, and so on.

I believe in the power of humanity and the power of universal momentum.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to connect with both similar and dissimilar personalities. I enjoy showing people around when I stay in a place long enough, and I enjoy being shown around!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All my experiences have been wonderful EXCEPT for one (strange and potentially unsafe, but funny. Below is the full explanation):
I have one VERY negative CS experience, as you can see in my references (The negative one written in Spanish) - he greeted me at his door WITHOUT PANTS OR UNDERWEAR, and his t-shirt did little to cover up. I thought he was taking a nap or something, but that's how he remained for the 24 hours I was there - MOSTLY-NAKED. We're both men, and it was "his house," as he said, but this is just not appropriate for having a stranger in your house. Because this made me very uncomfortable, I acted defensive and did not have as much to talk/share with him.
Translated to English, his review of me said something along the lines of "it was his worst experience in years, I opened a package of plastic containers, like glad-containers (in the kitchen, and because he had told me nothing, and had said "I will not cook for you, this is not a free motel"). Upon leaving, I had some extra of my food in that container, and I absentmindedly brought it with me. When he brought it to my attention, I gave it back, along with my food.
The guy was very strange! Haha, but I survived and I know now that if someone greets me without pants, I will turn around and walk away.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I was in Thailand without money, and a canadian friend who I had just met lent me $100 when I asked! It helped me get to a place to have money sent to me from home, and I paid her back a couple weeks later. (this is an amazing SOMEONE else has done, though.)
I believe in the power of good.
I have four unicycling world records (as yet unofficial): farthest distance in one hour (30.61 km) and longest continuous ride without stopping (172.16 km), as well as Longest Journey (17,000 km and counting). Also, most recently, longest distance unicycled blindfolded: 10.5 miles (17.6 km)
