About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To broaden my horizon

ABOUT ME

I (37) live in a large apartment in the suburbs of copenhagen with my toddler (3 years old).
This used to be a joint profile - but we since got divorced.

I'm an excellent baker and an aspiring cook and can offer a relaxed home to chill. I can show you my copenhagen, my denmark. I'll even happily show you the best ice cream parlours when I have free time in the spring/summer time.

I am not vegan or vegetarian - but a meat lover. I have no problem with anyone being vegan or vegetarian as long as they don't interfere in my lifestyle. I even have vegan options (like vegan milk), because I have friends with allergies.

I have a cuddly lady-cat, and anyone crashing at my place needs to accept that presence and actually like cats.

I also have said child and if you don't like children (right now a toddler) or have an issue with a baby being around you, I can't host you. I will not be using you as a nanny but my child is still to be accepted.

SOLO TRAVELLERS ONLY FOR NOW!

This is where I live:

It's not in central Copenhagen - you need to go by s-train to our little suburb.

If I _do_ decide to host you (via request from the last minute group or such) I expect you to actually show up or let me know, in good time, that you will have to cancel.

It's a question of respect.

PHILOSOPHY

C'est la vie - and what will be, will be eventually.

There's not a lot of events that cannot be turned positive if you choose.

"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

- Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think couchsurfing is a marvellous idea. I would very much like to host someone once in a while to catch a glimpse of different cultures and practice my spoken english, perhaps learn other languages.

SOLO TRAVELLERS ONLY FOR NOW!

These days I'm quite busy with personal and/or work related stuff, so I would offer more a base of operations than the tourguide. If that's okay - then you're very welcome in my home.

I prefer independent surfers but I do value the social aspect and wouldn't be without it. I also prefer non-smokers (or considerate smokers) and people who do not douse themselves with perfume, since I'm sensitive to synthetic smells.

Send me a couchmessage before an actual Couchrequest. I reply fairly quickly - within a day - but I have had a few potential double bookings and I would like to arrange our hosting more organized than in a hurry.

You must like cats. We have a cat and it's her place too. She will be lying on your shoes, running around the place and want to cuddle. If you don't like cats or only tolerate them, this is not the right match for you.

Same goes for toddlers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Started hosting in 2010 and enjoyed it a lot.

We hosted 2 CS'ers during christmas 2010 - was a very interesting Christmas since they both had very different ways of celebrating Christmas - one of them never tried it. Christmas 2014 we did so again. Planning on a third time soon.

Right now we prefer to host surfers - it is interesting to meet someone you wouldn't neccesarily meet in your own little pond.

Interests

I love G&Ts and good food.

I'm very good at baking (and doing the dishes ;))

I have loads of board games and I love to get to play.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
I'm especially into Terry Pratchet, Orson Scott Card, Dorothy Komsoom, Jenny Colgan, Maeve Binchy, Wilbur Smith, Bernard Cornwell and many more (mostly Fantasy or YA). Also a sucker for "A Song Of Ice And Fire" by George RR Martin.

I have a lot of books and love adding more. On my honeymoon in France we arrived with 4 books and departed with 14.

Music:
I like all kinds of music.

I'm especially listening to bands like: "Amaranthe", "Alestorm", "KISS", "Meat Loaf", "The 1975", "Jack Johnson", "Lindsey Stirling", "Foo Fighters", "Maggie Rogers", "Ariana Grande" and "Halestorm".

My Baby prefers chill out music and Samba ;)

Movies:
Hayao Miyazaki, Jerome Salle, Marvel. and much more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having my baby in 2015!

I had an amazing Christmas in 2010, the CouchSurfing way. Letting strangers into our home and watching them transform into friends as the christmas spirit started to shine. I am planning on recreating that sort of christmas soon.

Last 3 weeks of august 2011 was spent catsitting an apartment in Paris - a special kind of honeymoon which was only possible because of CS. That was an experience neither of us will forget easily. We are divorced now though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I bake and will share my recipes and gladly receive new ones.

I'm into politics* and philosophical discussions about almost anything and are well educated in most fields of knowledge.

*That said: we like to discuss politics, but not if you only get your news from Fox News. I've had one couchsurfer of that type and it was really unpleasant for me to listen to that much hate and fear. If you are like said couchsurfer, steer clear of my couch - we won't get along.
