About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being the best Noah I can be in every situation.

ABOUT ME

Currently a web developer, Starting Strength coach, part time real estate investor, and ex-small business owner/operator. I'm working towards fluency in Hebrew and - some point soon - conversational Mandarin (it's pretty crappy right now). I love to read, learn, experiment, and push my boundaries. Specialization is for insects.

PHILOSOPHY

I am generally informed by an evolutionary perspective in all things, stoicism, and natural rights theory. Once a hard consequentialist, now more inclined towards deontology and increasingly sympathetic to virtue ethics.

...Beyond that,
"Do not do what is hateful unto others, all the rest is commentary, go forth and study."
-Hillel

"If I am not for myself, who will be? If I am only for myself, who am I? If not now, when?"
-Hillel

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Music, Movies, and Books

If it's non-fiction I've either read it or intend to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Here's some stuff: I rode my bicycle from coast to coast, over 4200 miles. Later I walked 796.2 miles on the AT straight from the southern terminus on Springer Mtn. I spent a month hiking in Sagamartha Natl. Park in Nepal with my uncle. I've spent a lot of time in Israel and bumming around the states. Burning Man in 2007 was 70% every weirdness imaginable plus 30% intense/borderline-psychotic party. Bangkok was delicious, elephant filled, and transsexual. China was similarly delicious but "touristy". Favorite places include the Adirondacks, Catskills, White Mtns, Green Mtns, Rockies, Redwoods, and New England in autumn.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Barbados, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, Canada, Cayman Islands, China, England, Georgia, Israel, Mexico, Nepal, Nicaragua, Thailand, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

Israel, United States
