Overview
About Me
I'm 27 years old, from New York, and I now live in Reno, Nevada! I used to work in a neuroscience genetics laboratory before I quit my job to travel, and now have switched careers to focus on helping communities across the state of Nevada become more supportive and inclusive of people living with dementia and their family care partners. I recently completed my Masters in Journalism, with an emphasis on participatory documentary filmmaking, and am passionate about partnering with people living with dementia to tell the real stories of what it means to live well with dementia. Earlier this year I hiked the first 700 miles of the pacific crest trail, and am excited to hike the rest one year soon! In the mean-time, I'm enjoying the beautiful landscapes around Reno and spending as much time in the mountains as I can. I love exploring new places, meeting new people, and learning about new things, and I'm excited to broaden my understanding of the world and share my experiences with those around me. Let's talk about life!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used couchsurfing during an academic trip to Europe in 2015 and absolutely loved the experience. After that, I got the experience to host some truly wonderful people in my home in Bar Harbor, Maine while I was living there. If you ask me, Couchsurfing is the best way to travel, period! It's such a privilege to be able to give someone a place to stay while making a new friend in the process.
Interests
One of my biggest passions is combating ageism. Too often I see elders pushed to the edges of society, underestimated and disrespected by younger generations. To me, this is a huge failure. Elders should be revered, not ignored. If there's one thing I hope to do with my life, it's help change societal ideologies towards elders and build communities that are truly age-inclusive.
I love pretty much everything about the outdoors, but particularly hiking and skiing. Stimulating conversation is my favorite pastime; I love talking with people and getting to know them. But, I also like going out and having a great time. I'm super passionate about music, photography, and about wine; I'm happy to open up a stellar bottle for us to share and talk about!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to all types of music, but most of all I adore vocals that are out of this world. . Anything unique is usually something I like. Lately I've been getting more and more into folk and Americana music. You should check our Andrea von Kampen! She's great. Also, Brandi Carlile is one of all time favorites! Orville Peck is also a recent obsession.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm...I learned to swim from Michael Phelps, I've studied abroad in Italy, and I saw the original broadway cast of Wicked!
