Overview
About Me
Originally, I am from a small rural town in the southeast United States. I grew up on a family farm in Georgia alongside sheep, alpaca, and water buffalo.
In May 2018, I graduated from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, with a bachelor of science in biology.
Once upon a time, I was studying to be a doctor. Nowadays, however, I have decided to slow down and experience the world around me before continuing a long-term career path. Last fall, I spent three months living in the Kathmandu Valley region of Nepal. More recently, I spent seven months serving as a volunteer at a peace and reconciliation center in Northern Ireland. I have just completed a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and I hope to explore more of Europe before returning to the United States.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best way to see the world is through the eyes of the people that live there. I have always been a "people person," but only recently have I recognized why this trait is so important. The more people I meet, the more I have come to realize my passion for making connections and sharing these connections with others. My favorite part about traveling is the friendships I make along the way.
I believe that the appeal of Couchsurfing is simply its promotion of people over places. This is not Airbnb; I am not looking for a space. I am intentionally searching for a host, a connection, a new friend.
