Hello! My name is Casey and I'm from the US. This is also my first time couchsurfing. I'm currently studying science at the University of Melbourne and I'm absolutely loving Australia. I had the opportunity to spend 6 months in Central America last year and I met so many amazing new people. And I'm looking forward to doing the same in Australia.

I would be a very respectful house guest and would be happy to spend as much or as little time with you as your schedule allows. I come from a big family and am currently living with three wonderful roommates. So I understand how to live in harmony with other people and the importance of keeping the space tidy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have not couchsurfed before but I'm looking forward to trying it out. As an international student (with a student budget), I want to take advantage of my time in Australia and see as much of the country as I can. I also would much prefer a local experience to a hostel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will read almost anything I can get my hands on.

I think my favorite movie would be "Miracle on Ice" or "the Hunger Games." But, like books, if it has a good story line, I would most likely be quite happy to watch it.

And I think my favorite song would be Iron Sky by Paolo Nutini. And my favorite artists are Jon Bellion and Ben Howard.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year, I spent 2 months volunteering for sea turtle research and protection in the beautiful country of Costa Rica. I had the opportunity to live with a Spanish speaking host family while I patrolled the beaches nightly looking after endangered sea turtles.

I would be happy to share the details with you and would love to hear about your stories as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I just spent a month in the Philippines learning to surf and would be overjoyed if you shared the interest and would be happy to teach me.

I am also an artist and would happily draw and paint with you all.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am usually up for any sort of new adventure and would like to share exploring your home city with you. When people come to visit me, I have always found myself finding and trying new things in my home city that I have never tried before. It's like being a tourist in your own home.

I get along well with kids. I love to paint and draw. I also play soccer and almost any sport with a ball. And, as a Bachelor of Science student, studying Mechanical Engineering, I'm an ideal candidate to help out with maths homework if need be.
