I'm very outgoing. I thrive on constantly meeting new people and sharing new experiences. Music and writing fiction are ways that I can really escape the troubles of every day life, and traveling inspires me to do both.

Happiness is a choice. I choose to be happy -- nothing and no one makes that decision for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I typically use Facebook or Skype to make sure the people I let surf at my place or the people who chose to host me on CS are actual people. Not that I have many trust issues, but being a female, I'm sure you must understand my precautions. I'm not interested in "hook ups" with any of my surfers or my host, and I think I should make that clear.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've had an amazing experience. I've surfed in DC, Italy and Niagara Falls. I've hosted many people now and I love showing people the beauty of where I live, even if it's not a huge tourism spot.

I love the idea of emerging yourself into a new area by directly staying in the local community -- and to be fair, I love free accommodation, but it is not my motivation. I will use all that I save in hotel fares to buy food and adventures for myself and my hosts.

Interests

I like to spend most of my time outdoors during the day and as a normal person in their 20's would, I like to spend time at the bars at night and meet the locals. However, I rarely drink, but I love conversing with a good ol' fashioned drunk person. They always have the best stories!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies are nice, but give me a guitar and journal to write my fiction in, and I will enjoy myself for days. My favorite song is Manchester (Live KEXP version) by Kishi Bashi. My (current) favorite book is "The Illustrated Man" by Ray Bradbury.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have sat on the edge of cliffs that stood over 700 feet tall in Ireland. This place was known as the Cliffs of Moher near Galway. This is the first time that nature has humbled me to the point of tears. I realized how big the world was, and then I speculated that even though it's massive, it's only a spec of dust in the universe. This doesn't make it insignificant though -- it makes it even more beautiful that a spec of dust in the universe can be admired by something at all.

I've climbed Mt. Fuji...twice. My goal is to go up two more times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to show people around Raleigh, North Carolina. I've lived in Japan for the past two years which is why I haven't been online in a long time. I'll be moving back to the US and definitely utilizing CS again.
