ABOUT ME

I'm Casey, and I am trying to learn all there is to know about the story of... everything. I believe there are common threads amongst cultures, identities, amongst all people, and I want to explore those common threads. I believe in the innate goodness of all people and the power stories have to expose that.
As an individual, I write stories and songs. I am almost always listening to music.

PHILOSOPHY

No person on this planet can know or understand everything. That is why stories are so powerful to me. They capture the human condition and express the common threads woven between each of us as individuals. I believe it is the express responsibility of all people to cultivate themselves to their highest potential. I live to know more, trying to be the best person I can to others. I believe in the subjectivity of the human experience from person to person, knowing that everybody has something powerful within them. I believe in the power all people have, hoping to unlock that power within myself.

My roommates and I hosted 12 guests last year, and it was a blast.

Interesses

I love music, particularly folk. When I'm not at work or doing things for school, I'm writing. If there's music playing, I'm dancing. It doesn't matter where or what kind of music. Dancing is great.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

I enjoy Radiohead, Charlie Parr, Little Dragon, The Devil Makes Three, really anything. My favorite book is "The Artist of Life" by Bruce Lee, one of my personal role-models. I also love Chuck Palhanuik, particularily "Stranger Than Fiction." I like watching really shitty movies because they're hilarious, but I like the classics as well. My favorite movies are "Let the Right One In," "Stranger Than Fiction"(The Will Ferrell flick, and all the "Mystery Science Theater 3000" movies. If you've not seen them, do so now...I'll wait.

I am part of a fraternity which has a sharp focus on survival skills in the wilderness. As part of my becoming a member, I was put in situations which required me to rely on others for warmth, shelter, and morale, and for them to rely on me. I am not an expert on survival skills, but I think I have something to say about the experience. I grew up in a family who ran a series of businesses for our livelihood. I've done a lot in that respect. I've been a janitor, a cook, a painter, a sales person, a repairman, and a lot more for my family businesses. I'm a DIY type of guy.
