I grew up in Chicago, and have spent the better part of my life following adventure and sunshine. Road trips are my one true love, and through my many American road trip adventures I've gotten to visit 46/50 states....I'm saving Hawaii for last. =]

Still couchless myself, I'm traveling around gathering stories about successfully relying on the kindness of strangers. I think too often there's a fear to meet and talk to new people, but I see the beauty in connection and the unique opportunity travels provides in being able to foster it.

I love nature and anything that gets me outside. I enjoy art, and always have a sketchbook with me. I love teaching and working with kids. I'm a baker, and will use any excuse to whip up a batch of cookies. I enjoy storytelling, making laser sounds, cloud watching, live music, reading, hot tea, knitting and board games.

Get me to a live concert and I will listen to just about anything. I love all kinds of music, and usually have a mix tape for any occasion. I love Mark Twain, Steinbeck, Gaiman...I adore the Harry Potter series, the Game of Thrones books (come on George, let's see Winds of Winter soon, here), and my two favorite books of all time are The Princess Bride and Cyrano de Bergerac.

Any time I get to see fireworks is a magical time for me. Enjoying moments in nature...like the 'golden hour' when the sun is rising or setting and turns everything a special shade of beautiful. I've gotten to watch the Northern Lights from the flight deck of a plane, live in a tree house in California, and canoe around Disney World.
