About Me

CURRENT MISSION

California Love

ABOUT ME

After graduating college I set off to Hiroshima, Japan to teach English for 2 years, then traveled around Asia for nearly 5 months. It was the experience of a lifetime. Currently in America, trying to figure out the next step and how long I can stay here before I get itchy feet again.

I LOVE to meet new people and would consider myself outgoing, adventurous, and independent.

Carpe Diem

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had some good, some really good, and some bad. I just look at the bad ones as ammunition for my arsenal of good stories to tell later in life. I randomly met two people on their honeymoon that met through Hospitality Club. I don't think that will happen to me but thought that was a pretty cool story.

Interests

travels, languages and cultures, hiking/outdoors, cooking, drinking, dancing, and sports. I rarely leave home without my camera, or pen and paper.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Can't Buy Me Love (I am a cheeseball), L'Auberge Espagnole, Lost in Translation, Dumb and Dumber
Music: I am not good at this question: I listen to it all esp if it can make me dance or chill out.
Books: Gotta love Harry Potter, Kite Runner, and studying Metamorphosis in HS changed my life. Honestly I like to read but don't do it enough.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Building houses in Mexico, scuba diving at Sipadan, cross-country skiing in Tahoe, watching the sunrise atop Mt. Fuji (twice!), Kilimanjaro, Everest basecamp, Half Dome and Angkor Wat; getting naked at Everest, Annapurna South, and Half Dome; rubbing shoulders with monks in Luang Prabang, winning a turban-tying competition in India, motoing through the Vietnamese Central Highlands, playing guitar whilst wandering the slums of Cebu in the Philippines, hiking in Switzerland/Banaue/California/Himalayas, hitching in Japan, swinging like tarzan through a rainforest at the Gibbon Experience, 4 incredible years at Cal, and the list is endless....

Other stories...guess we will have to meet up to find out!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to put on a yukata, make a mean Spanish tortilla or maki sushi, shotgun a beer, swing or salsa dancing, and how to say 'hello' and 'cheers' in most countries I have traveled.

I want to learn to sing, play the guitar, to cook chili, and how to play poker.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Cambodia, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Vatican City State, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
