CURRENT MISSION

I want to explore Mexico and Central America for a few months while hunting for a place to get set up teaching English.

ABOUT ME

I was raised in a small town in Tennessee before migrating to the state capital of Nashville. I've lived there pretty much continuously since starting college, with a 7 month interlude on the island of Martinique as an English teaching assistant. Until recently, I tended bar in a restaurant in Nashville. I have just completed a CELTA course in order to obtain a qualification to teach English. I ultimately hope to find the right city in Latin America to teach. For now, I hope to explore Mexico for a little while without burning through all my savings. If I can, I'd like to make a trip through Central America as well, particularly to see the Mayan ruins in Guatemala. I will potentially end up in Colombia, as I've heard wonderful things about the country and really want to see it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I'm travelling, so I don't have a place to put anyone up. Once I get set up in a fixed location, I'll gladly provide room for as many people as I can reasonably accommodate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My roommates and I hosted several couchsurfers at our house in Martinique. When I shared a house with some friends in East Nashville last summer, we also had a couple couchsurfers stay with us. In both cases, the arrangements were made through my roommates, so this is my first time using the site on my own.

Intereses

I love reading. I can usually find something to enjoy in all genres of music. I can play guitar and drums a little bit. I studied political science and philosophy in college. I really like spending time out in nature and going for hikes. I'm not extremely athletic, but I always try to maintain a good level of physical activity.
