Sobre Mim

www.instagram.com/casparcamera

Hi my name is Caspar! I'm new to couchsurfing, but I hope to soon have many new and fun experiences through this app! I am a 26 year old Australian and I'm very easy going, I like all kinds of food, music and activities!

In my professional life I work as a supervisor on remote community projects, which takes me to countries like Uganda, Cambodia and Indonesia, usually to help with issues regarding clean water (go to https://developmenttogether.com/about-us/ to see more!).

Between projects I like to follow the winter seasons to live in snowy mountainous regions so that I can spend my free time snowboarding! So far I have done winter seasons in Falls Creek, Australia and Niseko, Japan and in December I will be moving to Myoko (in the Niigata prefecture).

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

The biggest reason that I joined couchsurfing is because I don't want to spend my time in foreign countries staying in hostels and guest houses that are full of other foreigners. When I visit countries I do my best to learn the local language and engage with the local people. I've noticed in my travels that lots of other backpackers tend to just go sightseeing and drinking and only hang out with other travellers, this is fun too, but not how I want to spend all my time abroad. I enjoy cultivating REAL relationships with exchanging of language, ideas, stories and cultures. I know from first hand experience that the best things that countries/cities have to offer are discovered with the aid of the local people. I'm also currently trying my very best to learn Japanese and I don't get a lot of opportunity to practice when I'm staying in hostels so if I get to stay with Japanese people that would help me immensely!

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

Hiked to the peak of Niseko Annupuri (1,308m) to watch the sunrise! We had to wake up at 1 am to start hiking and make it in time. (see my profile photos for before and after)

O Que Posso Compartilhar com Anfitriões

I'm extremely friendly, I have an outgoing attitude towards life and have been told by many people that I am comfortable to be around, easy to talk to and motivate them to have more fun through my energy! I have heaps of stories from all the places I've lived and visited and I'm always happy to help you improve your English.
