ABOUT ME

Friendly local ghost with international background. Bit of a friendly giant with blue eyes.

Relatively new to couchsurfing - good & personal host.
I lived in the UK and worked abroad all over europe and also the US. Now I love my hometown Amsterdam becoz it is so relaxed and village-like.
Speak french fluently, english, dutch german. starter in italian (help! :)

Daytime I work in the business centre. Bit different maybe from the average couchsurfer - but then: it's only work.

I share my life with an italian boyfriend who is also on couchsurfing. We both have our own homes, and hang out with each other and our mutual friends.

I like smart people. Just becoz it gives me a challenge it listening to them, and figuring out what makes them tick. Age really doesnt matter is these cases.

Who can teach me some Reiki basics? that would be really cool.

PHILOSOPHY

personal philosophy? Well: it is important to stay open-minded and discover. that doesn't necessarily mean constantly hopping from one place or experience to the other. Sometimes some loyalty, time and trust brings insights in people and places that make it really worthwhile to stick it out for a bit. Know what i mean?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My place is close to the Amstelstation.
It's pretty and light, with a rather amazing green/blue roofterrace (if sunny....). Good one-and-a-half sofabed in the spacious livingroom - i have my own bedroom. Space for a second sleeper too. I recommend you to have a bike, and make the back-forth cycle to the centre along the lovely Amstel river. This particular cycle ride makes me happy to live in Amsterdam ! I hope you like it too :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

only good stuff. i like relaxed curious guys & girls. Dont use me as an alternative to a hotel please. I really cant be bothered replying to non-personal requests. It kinda pisses me off even...

Interests

gardening. nice conversations, town walks and discovering the small special corners in a town, travelling - dogs (but i cant have one :(

Instead of a dog, I have this real cool car. It's this massive american classic (Chrysler 300, 1965) that I bought once when i was drunk. Now I keep her in good shape and I take her ("Shirley", as in Shirley Bassey) out for a spin once every while. Can't do long stretches coz then i have to take out a personal loan - Shirley drinks a lot !

Music, Movies, and Books

Love to see movies just for the sake of seeing them, preferably together with friends. But there's only a few that stick on my mind. Bladerunner (becoz my mates hated it, and i loved it) De vierde Man (Paul Verhoeven gave me homo-erotic chills hehe) & de Avonden (pictures of stiffling family environments).

Books are a bit up and down. sometimes i read - and then i pick up suggestions from close friends.

I can be a bit aversive towards the political correctness of literature and culture. Maybe because for many its a way to profile themselves.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The laguna of Rio / Ipanema....One day i will go back and, get a boat from the local rowingclub and row by myself or on a 4 / 8 on that laguna mmmmm

Gardening ! give me some dirt a plant and a corner and before you know it you live in a green paradise. i like rowing

i dont believe in country borders or limitations based on the nationality of origin...isnt there a political party with this on their agenda somewhere?
