About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Be happy and enjoy my life!
ABOUT ME
I am an extremely outgoing and energetic person who loves to meet new people and experience new things! I was a teacher for 2 years and then decided to leave my job for a bit to travel. I studied abroad through Semester at Sea in spring 2009 and it changed my life forever! I spent 108 days sailing around the world with 730 other university students while taking classes. We visited 12 countries and transited the Panama Canal. I love to travel because each time it changes me for the better. I am caring, loyal, fun to be around, and love having engaging conversations about anything! I hope we get to meet one day!
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is that everyone deserves to be loved and that we are all "same, same, but different". I believe that everyone has something to offer the world, but that our experiences shape us, and we must also understand that about others. If someone has never had the opportunity to learn how to be loved and how to think positively because of the circumstances of their life, how can you instantaneously expect them to look at life through the same lens that you do? Seek to first understand, then be understood. Laughter brings everyone to the same level and allows us to see that we are all just people at the end of the day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
How I participate in the world? Hmmm... I'm slightly unsure of how to answer this question. I give who and what I am all the time when I work with kids- they are the inspiration for me to be a better person so that they can one day also be better people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have traveled extensively, but started CouchSurfing in 2011 and it has been an amazing way to meet beautiful people and I'm very thankful for it!
Interests
I love to read, meet new people, talk, learn, and laugh- laughing is the best! I am a positive and happy spirit who thrives on new experiences and talking with other people. I love working with kids and teaching them something new (whether it be how to read, about a new place, or just how to receive the love that I give), and I like to party and have fun- I'm quite a multifaceted lady!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Whoa- I've been incredibly blessed, but I would have to say that taking a motorcycle taxi around Vietnam was one of the most amzing experiences- it taught me a ton and allowed me the chance to really get to know Vietnamese people.
Teach, Learn, Share
I was able to visit the War Remnants Museum in Vietnam, The Hiroshima Peach Museum in Japan, and then the Pearl Harbor Museum in Hawaii- all consecutively. The amount that I learned by visiting those sights and then discussing with people that I met that had more knowledge than I did contributed greatly to what I now know and how I feel about war and conflict. I would love to share my knowledge and gain more knowledge about this subject and so many others!
I volunteered for a peace education group called CISV (Children's International Summer Village) where I got the opportunity to take a group of kids to another country where they were able to be immersed in the culture and learn about others in a way that they had never had the opportunity to- this experience was amazing and I would love to inform others about this phenomenal volunteer opportunity.
