About Me
Hello! I'm Cassandra but you can call me Cass because Cassandra is a mouthful. :-) I am a super positive, happy, curious and kind person. I love people. I find people's lives and stories fascinating. I like making new friends and prefer real talk to small talk any day! I am adventurous and always looking for new places to explore.
If you are requesting to stay at my place: The city I live in is called Valley Village. It is about a 20 minute drive to downtown Los Angeles. A 15 minute drive to Hollywood. A 45 minute drive to Santa Monica Beach or Venice Beach...or any beach! :-) and a 45 minute drive from LAX. I just want to make sure that you are aware that I am in a suburb and not right in the middle of Los Angeles. That said, there are little bars and restaurants and shopping places nearby. I will have to work during the day if you are here during the week, but you will probably be out exploring the city during the day anyway. I will do my best to help make your stay in Los Angeles a wonderful one.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, I forgot to mention that I am a single Mama. I had my first son when I was 19 and my second son when I was 22. I raised them mostly on my own and did a totally awesome job if I may say so myself :-) They are now both out in the world making their way and for the first time in my adult life-------I GET TO DO ANYTHING I WANT! (heheheeee) and a big part of that will be traveling! The more I can lean on lovely people (like you!) to share their space, the more of this gorgeous world I can see. So, THANK YOU for being you and maybe I will be able to meet you soon!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am not really a movie person (I know! It drives most of my friends crazy. "WHAT?!? You haven't seen Star Wars...or The Godfather, or ANYTHING???")
I read all the time, so it is hard to pick favorite books. One of my favorites that I read every year or two is called Eternal on the Water. It is a love story mixed with a National Geographic magazine, basically. I also love historical fiction written by authors who do exhaustive research so that you are learning a lot about the time period as you read. Memoirs of Cleopatra or The Other Boleyn Girl were awesome. MISTS OF AVALON! Every woman should read that book!!!!
Music: Once again, hard to pick. Every month or two I make a playlist in my phone of my favorite songs of the moment. So, right now, in July, here are some from the playlist...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I used to write a long (full page) handwritten letter all about slowing down, tuning in, taking care of ourselves and each other. It took me about a half an hour to write each letter. When I would get 30-40 I would pick a neighborhood and late at night (midnight-ish) ride my bike around and post them on strangers' doors with heart stickers.
