About Me

Gday!
I am a 22 year old Aussie currently backpacking solo around the globe a bit.
After graduating university last year, I decided to take a year off and explore, learn and experience all that I can!
I had planned on doing my masters in International Development but honestly I’m just trying to work it all out while living my best life.

I am just as comfortable discussing current political events as I am going out dancing or sitting around playing board games.

Previously, I have solo travelled through a number of countries in Asia. In 2016, I studied abroad in Akita (Japan) at Akita International University. These experiences have fuelled my desire to get out in the world and outside my comfort zones.

This year in May I started my trip in Greece; then to Italy, Spain, Portugal, Morocco (for two months doing a work away), Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia🤗

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After some great experiences in Morocco staying with locals and friends of friends of friends I decided I wanted to use couch surfing more. So far it has been such an authentic way to see new cities and places.
Especially after travelling for 5 months alone, it really makes me miss community interactions rather than just fleeting interest and small talk. I’ve been really lucky so far in having incredible hosts that open up their community and family to me. Could not be more grateful.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: A weird blend of my parents and siblings music taste. Basically anything from the Beegees and Elton John to Paul Kelly, Gang of Youths and The Middle Kids. Currently looking to update my music playlists- especially with music from countries other than Australia/UK.

Movies: Another CS recently sat me down to watch the 3 Lord of the Rings movies- I was sceptical at first but got to admit they were pretty damn good.

Books: My favourite reads so far this year have been “Homegoing” and “Wardrobe Crisis”. Love getting book recommendations as I think it’s important to read a wide variety of genres and authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking through Morocco 🇲🇦

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Any English practice or interest in sustainability
Learn: Anything from cooking a local dish to learning a new card game. I’m up for anything!
Share: A passion and enthusiasm for life.
