About Me

I'm a curious scientist with a spiritual side. I have many interests and tend to want to do too many things... Lol...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel more (don't have a lot of money for traveling as much as I would like, but do we ever?) and get to know the places I go to outside the traditional tourist routes. I want to get to know places from the people who live there.

Interests

Travel: I love to travel and meet new places and people (although I am a bit shy at first). Specially love to see nature and do radical sports (except anything with freefall, which I do not enjoy).

Yoga: I'm a trained yoga instructor and used yogatherapy when I was a physio. Have done yoga for over 15 years. Still practice to this day and love it.

Bellydancing: I started bellydancing over ten years ago and love it! Love tribal fusion! Do not get into competitions or comparissons, I think each one has their own style of dance and I respect diversity.

Bike: started going to the University by bike almost a year ago... Still training, not that good at going uphill... Lol... But I do my best!

Cooking: I love cooking when I have the time (which is not that often, unfortunately). I'm the kind that takes tradicional recipies and makes her own version of it, but afterwards follows her own recipe (I have bad memory and usually forget something If I don't use the recipe). I know some french recipies, some vegetarian, some german (great gramma was German)...

Science: doing a second doctorate, need I say more? Lol... Come from a family of scientists on my dad's side.

Books: neuroscience, spiritual, a few novels...

Cultural Interchange: having lived abroad as a child I can see clearly cultural traits that people take for granted... I find it fascinating.

Music: who doesn't like that? Lol...

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm more of a "I like this song" kind of person than a fan of any specific band or musician. I like spiritual books (love Eckhart Tolle), a few novels and fantasy books and read a lot of science textbooks (obviously). I love "Friends" and "The Big Bang Theory", my parents have a lot of movies, so we watch a lot of stuff at home on the projector screen. Don't usually go to the movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Himalayas were pretty awesome... Also, getting a PhD is pretty insane, let alone two! Lol... But I think the most amazing thing anyone can do is strive to be better every day... :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I have worked as a teacher since 1996, teaching several subjects. I love learning and am always studying something. I mean ALWAYS... Lol...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Interesting conversation, cultural interchange and I give a great massage! If you're into dancing, we can exchange dancing "lessons", which could be fun. Or yoga and pilates practices... Physiotherapy advice... If I know something that someone wants to know, I don't hesitate in giving the information for free (everything I've ever done is online for free, cause I believe that's how knowledge grows).
