About Me

**AUTUMN 2021 currently in recovery**

I came in Québec in September 2015, originally just for 1 year, but 1 year became more and more... so I'm still here. I became permanent resident in April 2021, after a long immigration fight of 6 years.

Since my travel in Australia and Asia in 2014, I changed my previous lifestyle for voluntary simplicity, limiting materialism and high-consumption. This travel allowed me to reconnect to my essence and was the beginning of a long journey inside of me.
I try to be constantly connected with myself, even if it's pretty hard in this crazy montreal-life. And be connected with myself leads me to be more available for be connected with persons around me.
I went and still go through many medical problems, that's why I also need to take time for being with myself, in relation with my body, listening my body for translate. "La sieste"/nap is essential in my life! ☺️ But tho, I'm at the same time very active, it's just a dance between activities and rest... I explore the deep link between being in forest and healing. Trees and nature are wonderful teachers.

I'm a past chemist, reconverted into a french teacher for immigrants and for vulnerable people (homeless, people with autism, mental health issues, etc). I really love my job, even if it can be sometimes a source of anxiety. But it's definitely a two-way learning ! I can spend so many times speaking about my job (but with less vocabulary in english!), immigration is also one of my favorite subject. Environment, ecology, social justice, feminism, privileges are visiting me almost every day.

Oh and I'm a booklover and I love also take pics of little things or what people judge "uggly".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting people, discovering a new facet of a subject/value/experience, discover other cultures, share moments.

Travelling allows to discover new aspects of yourself. Learning a new language too. That's why I love travel.
Most of the time, I like to go to local markets, discover new fruits, vegetables, food, and cook. Meeting the local people is for me meeting and understanding the country which host me and the culture.

When I don't travel and I'm geographically motionless, I try to infuse the travel in my daily life. Hosting couchsurfeurs is a way (even if it's not always possible because of building rules).
