Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't want to float on the surface of a culture and leave a country without a real understanding of the people, ideas and customs. Hostels are particularly boring for me as they're a way of meeting backpackers. I want to know what it's like to live in a place. To feel the lifestyle. Couch surfing and hitchhiking have been the two main sources of all my greatest experiences on the road. Showing me unique perspectives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

.Worked for 2 months in Marrakech performing circus
.Hitchhiked the Pamir highway Tajikistan
.Hiked for 5 days in Yakushima island Japan, meeting some of the worlds eldest trees
.Entered Afghanistan dressed as a local woman with no friend or guide
.First hitchhike in Mongolia with a military pick up truck, they stopped every 20 minutes for beer. Viewed the Mongolian landscape with military guys curled up beside me asleep. Eagles overhead and camels in the planes.
.Connecting with global psytrance & rainbow tribes
.Performed fire with Hilight Tribe
.Stay with a French nomad on the border of Azerbaijan who's been traveling with his camel for 25 years
.Stayed with reindeer herders and shamans in the north of Mongolia
.Avebury stone circle UK on summer solstice, watching the sunrise in above the green hills as the pagans begin their rituals
. Staying in squats and various underground spaces in cities across the world
.Rainbow gathering Transylvania, dancing round the full moon fire, bathing in the mountain river
