I am a 20-year-old, wannabe solo traveler. I've been hopping on planes and seeing the world since I was little. My family is from Scotland, I grew up in Germany (6 years), Japan (2 years), and all around the U.S. This presented me with the opportunity to go to Greece, Croatia, Czech, France, Italy, Sweden, Austria, China, Korea, Okinawa, and many other places starting at a young age. I'm looking to create my own experiences and let the world makes its mark on me as I make my mark on it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing because... I'm 20 years old and in college, but I won't give up my dream of traveling. I don't have the money (honestly) to sleep in 4/5 star hotels throughout my travels, but who does? And who wants to? It sounds cliche', but I want to fully experience the place/culture/country I'm in, and I think I have a better chance of that if I'm with locals. I want to have the opportunity to make friends in my travels. I'm not looking for comfortable, I'm looking for exciting.

Interests

I love photography, I love hiking, I love being social, and I love food. I'll probably be up writing all night about my travels, and I'll probably be trying to get a hold of my family every night. If my mom would let me fall asleep in a city without calling her, I would, but alas. ;)
I'll want to eat something new everyday, but I won't forgo my morning coffee.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like everything! I grew up on country and classic rock, but I'm a child of my generation so top 40 pop, hip hop. Mostly alternative and indie style music. My favorites change on a daily basis. I'm not a huge fan of movies, but I'll enjoy the, with friends. My favorite book change as I read them as well, but I enjoy easy read classics. "Great Gatsby" is one of my favorites. "Wild", as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been on an EDventure program to Thailand to help abandoned and mistreated elephants through a rehab program. I spent two weeks playing with elephants and being taught about their society by the locals. Eye opening.
