About Me

Hi all!

This profile is for me and my partner Adam as we'll be traveling together. We're living in Germany now while I go to school for my masters in Natural Resource Management (essentially sustainability) and he works as a Civil Engineer. We're both from Massachusetts in the US and have only been living in Germany since September 2024. Neither of us have ever even visited Europe before now, so we've got a lot to learn and want to see as much as we can over the next two years that I'm in school!

Overall, we're really just two chill people who can keep to ourselves or would love to spend time with any hosts who wants to. It's important to us to always be respectful and open to whoever we meet and stay grateful for whatever we have.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're here because we want to meet people who actually live in the places we want to visit. We don't want to only do the main tourist attractions, we want to learn what it's like to live around the world and meet cool people from all over. :)

Philosophically, the concept of this site is something we're really interested in as an alternative to the typical travel options which require a level of wealth that makes it inaccessible to many people. Our hope is to be in a position to host people ourselves soon to give back to this community and do our part to promote this kind of travel for others too. Things can get pretty cynical in the world and this concept is a bright spot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cassie:
The time I smoked weed that had been stashed in a geocache in the jungle while dangling my legs over the edge of the caldera of Kīlauea volcanoe in Hawaii with my friends. I was working for the park at the time and I'm just amazed that none of us fell in. XD

Adam:
When my friend and I climbed down into the Grand Canyon and back up again. It was hard and amazing in itself, but we met some folks on the way back up who thought we had done it in record time somehow due to a language barrier and they really wanted to take pictures with us. Glad to know I'm in some photo album somewhere!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, we hope to do all three of these things!

We're happy to share whatever we have, learn about the cultures and experiences of anyone willing, and teach our perspective to whoever is interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We'd love to hang out, buy you dinner, or go on an adventure with you! Traveling around Europe is so new to us, pretty much everything is interesting and exciting to us, so we're up for it all. We'd also be happy to help out around your space and are always clean people.

We likely will be staying for such short periods in any place, that we'll be filling our time being out and about. So, we can either give you lots of space or you're welcome to join us exploring/show us your favorite things to do.

We're open books, so please just feel free to ask about anything you want to know about us!
