About Me

It is super hard for me to sum up myself in only a few words. I have a blog, though, and I post fairly regularly, so if you'd like a good idea of who I am and how I write, check out comeonthinkers.tumblr.com!

In a nutshell though, I'm a sound-mixin', music-recordin', wine-totin', fun-lovin', dancin' fool that likes good conversation and board games (my boyfriend and I own quite a few board games- we're working on getting more). I work a bunch of jobs all over Ithaca, NY and the Finger Lakes and have traveled all over the US, staying with friends, family friends, and in hostels and hotels. I've been to Europe once, but would love to go again.

Like most people my age, I'm working on finding the balance between work goals, personal dreams, family dreams, and personal travel and free time. I like to think I'm getting better at that!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't done any couch surfing yet with CS. I'd like to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't surfed with this particular organization yet, but I have hosted and stayed with some mutual fans of bands for out-of-town concerts that I met through tumblr. I have stayed at hostels and friends' homes for personal travels and love meeting new people I encounter along the way. I've learned that there are some really wonderful people in the world, and we'll never meet if we don't reach out!

Interests

In my free time, I'm listening to music, reading interesting memoirs or YA fiction, playing board games, and checking out maps. I am a music producer-in-training/live sound engineer, I work in a winery tasting room, and I'm slowly working on a dream to see more of the world. I love cooking, baking, cake decorating, and talking about music over a glass of wine! I love storytelling and hearing other people's stories, and the overall experience of life on Earth.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mutemath, X Ambassadors, J Roddy Walston and the Business, Justin Timberlake, Ellie Goulding, Alt-J, old school R&B, Medeski Martin and Wood, Chick Corea, and oh gosh so many bands and music...

Books: I read a lot of random memoirs, plays, and classics. Currently reading Amy Poehler's memoir "Yes Please" and the latest book in the Lunar Chronicles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove across the US by myself (NYC to San Francisco to LA) and got to see so much of this country that I had never seen before. Driving through the Rocky mountains, seeing the giant sunflower and wheat and corn fields in Nebraska, skirting around Lake Tahoe... it was unbelievable. I wrote so much during that trip and learned to love so much of America... I try to keep that in mind whenever politics starts to get me down!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Music recording skills, strategic board games, fun wine knowledge (good for parties and impressing your friends!)

Learn: ballroom dance, French or Portuguese, more games!

Share: Tasty healthy food, live music in the Finger Lakes, wine/beer/spirits/beverage tours in the Finger Lakes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help cook, bring wine or board games, share awesome stories and good conversation.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, England, France, Switzerland
