About Me
This is the profile of an adventure-lover who speaks 4 languages (including Japanese - I lived there for a while) and said hello to strangers whilst in 11 countries so far – The list will grow this year too! He’s a health & fitness freak who has cycled for more than 6 hours in a single day to another city to buy a dress for a friend in need. His friends have recommended him to go on master chef because he’s a boss in the kitchen (you can be the judge of this), creating new and crazy recipes with experimental ingredients and fascinating fusions – love a good Japanese-Indian-Thai curry!
Reflecting his occupation and healthy lifestyle he's a non-smoker, teetotaller, and would much rather spend time enjoying good conversations, asking questions and learning more about people, life and the world, or just enjoying some video games instead of partying / clubbing / raving. Oh, and he's soon to be married to a dentist who kindly provides him with all his dental needs too!
He’s an ambitious dreamer, who wants to save the world and uses his doctor-abilities to help poor people on the Burma-Thailand border – gotta love the feeling when a patient walks away cured, with a thankful smile. So now you may wonder, what’s this man doing on Couch Surfing? Read on and find out :).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'll start using a first-person narrative now!
To understand why I signed up to this website, it might be helpful to have a brief background about me:
I lived in Japan, volunteering and studying there, and I often cycled to several nearby cities from the place I lived. Cycling is a passion of mine, and Japan was the best place I've ever cycled. I then had a thought, "What if I cycled across the whole of Japan!?" - and over the past few years, this thought has become an increasingly realistic dream. I'm now in the process of creating a solid plan to actually achieve this.
From March 2019, I'll be attempting to cycle across the whole of Japan! Many days on this journey will involve camping, but if I could be lucky enough to come across some generous hosts on this website who'll be willing to provide me with even the slightest degree of hospitality, I promise I'll be eternally grateful! Where ever you may be based in Japan, I would love to hear from you and if you were willing to provide any form of support, please do let me know and when planning the route I'll be keen to try and pass by and say hi and hang-out :).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Most people describe my favourite music as the sort which you would hear in a video game or as a soundtrack in a movie - usually just instrumentals - I'm more than happy to share some of my favourite tracks!
Movies: Genuinely able to appreciate and enjoy most movies, but some personal favourites would include: Gladiator, Braveheart, Terminator 2
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Getting a fully-funded placement in Japan from JP Morgan (the investment bank) to volunteer in a Red Cross Hospital which lead on to several other awesome fully-funded volunteering and part-time jobs, as well as clinical placements studying in a Japanese hospital as a medical student.
