About Me

Hi ! I'm Cassiopée, 23, born and raised in Paris but always been acquainted with travelling. Also spent a year in New York while in high school and lived in Bologna for Erasmus last year. For now I intend to remain in Paris, but I do love escaping the city whenever I can, whether it's for the day or for a few weeks. I studied art in university, mainly I do video and poetry, and hope to start a masters degree in experimental movie making in September, as well as a bachelor in philosophy. I love meeting new people, as I am fascinated with human relationships, the similarities and differences that exist between each and one of us and our psychologies -- and it is often even more interesting when it comes to meeting someone from another culture !!
I love reading and writing, also I take a lot of videos as I love collecting little fragments of my daily life, whether it's routine or unexpected adventures. Lastly I love music and singing !
Now I think it's quite hard to give an actual description of myself in this bio, all I know is I am always looking forward to new meetings and a good time of fun :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In June, I will be travelling on my own for the first time through Italy ; I hope to meet new people, in order to have a vision of my trip that's more authentic and not touristsy :) And also it's just so lovely to have new friends when you're on your own !! :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

literature and philosophy :
"Just Kids" by Patti Smith changed many things in my life and the way I lived it
"The Unbearable Lightness of Being" by Kundera, one of the most beautiful book i've read
Albert Camus, whose philosophy I identify with deeply
ee cummings' and Osip Mandelstam's poetry, as well as Jean-Marie Kerwich
also in love with Romain Gary
in the middle of reading Proust and just digging it
and a bunch of other random authors and ideas...

movies :
it's quite hard to decide which ones to put in here... I love the French New Wave in terms of authenticity and ways of capturing spontaneous images, old Italian movies (especially "C'eravamo tanto amati" by Ettore Scola), and super random films from super random countries ... :-)

music :
I've loved singing since I was in a stroller, and I've done music on and off eversince I was a little girl. My tastes are quite broad, I listen to quite a lot classical music, electronic, techno and rap, depending on my mood or who I'm with

art :
on top of my head : love Schiele, Rothko, photographer Ed van der Elsken, Turner, old Renaissance Italian paintings, Michelangelo, Zao Wou-Ki...
