Music, Movies, and Books
Music is my element, it's been with me for a long time (I played classcal and then jazz for several years). Right now I like to triangulate among folk, punkrock, and blues. I also enjoy some electronica, for instance Burial.
My current obsession: The Mountain Goats.
Movies and books, I like Woody Allen and Paul Auster, respectively. I'm also in love with this Chinese classic called Zhuang-Zi and with the diaries of Herzl.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I wrote a PhD thesis in less than 10 months. I don't know if that's amazing but I'm very proud. Of course I'm less proud of the reasons that led to having to rush so much... But ok, no one is perfect ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a very decent cook, and especially I love to cook for a bunch of people. I also enjoy teaching some traditional Italian things, like home-made pasta and baked goods.
I find stimulating discussions very entertaining. They can be about most topics, be that language and languages, politics, music, cultural environments and differences, whether you should put water in your oven while baking bread, stereotypes, digital identities, etc...
