ABOUT ME

I'm a full time teacher and hopefully, soon to be part time student as well. I guess I'm always interested in learning new things. I put my heart and all of my energy into what I do, however, I'll never let my job rule my life. My true aspiration is to keep producing the drawings and artwork I make and continue showing/selling them. If I could make art full time, I would.

PHILOSOPHY

I think I don't have a personal philosophy because I think they are limiting. We will always have new encounters, experiences that we should allow to change us. For the better of course. Sometimes I think people over look the truth because of a personal philosophy.

I can host and although I haven't gone traveling in a while, I'd love to go out west and meet the people out there.

No previous couch surfing experience. I'm a nube at this!

Interests

There are so many things I am interested in. I love music; just about all kinds. I see the merit in anything from punk rock to Bacharach; from metal to YO yo Ma. I am always aware of the music around me and good music or bad music and make or break the situation. I appreciate, and thank god for the arts, including visual arts. I work in my studio making drawing and I love talking about art and art history. My art is a huge part in my life and I think it overlaps all other areas of my interests.
I can talk about philosophy, politics, music, art, crazy ideas for inventions, how to save the world, how to get rich quick, aliens and ufos, etc etc. I'm an introvert most of the time, but thats because I'm not good at small talk. Meaningless conversations, I'd rather do without. Conversations that make me think are what I life for.
I love motorcycles, riding them, looking at them, and I want to see a renaissance of motorcycles occur now that gas prices are so high. I want to meet other bikers out there, of any kind, I don't fit into any camps nor do I think I should. I'm just interested in anything new

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: indy rock, metal, punk, classical, hip hop, singer songwriter, jazz, blues, golden oldies, atmospheric... anything, as long as its evident of real thought.
Books: I'm an art book junky. I need to have, at my finger tips, lots of pictures from the artists I like. My favorite book at the moment is "Drawing from the Modern." The most recent book I purchased is "On Ugliness" (about our fascination with images of death, pain, decadence in art).
Movie: I like animated movies, action movies, indy films. I like the movies that are truly unique. At the moment, my most recent favorite movie is Sin City.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love talking to people about how I see artwork. I would love to share my skills in drawing or art making with anyone who is interested. I think the best thing I do is question things...a lot, and I would feel so rewarded if I could make other people look at things from different angles. I believe in making the best with what we have and thinking of new ways to use old things.
