About Me

I love to have fun, I'm pretty relaxed as a person, but I'm also energetic and I love to 'DO' things and go places; if it's something I've never done before, so much the better. At work I'm a stage manager in different venues and different places around the world, in places like spiegeltents and circus tents, an awesome job which I love: meeting amazing people and seeing amazing shows.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This year I'm going travelling by myself for the first time, which is pretty scary for me but I'm really hoping it will turn out to be the perfect thing for making new friends on the road.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is definitely a difficult one to narrow down so the very most recent of each of these which I enjoyed were: 90s dance music played in the office by my mate (ridiculous but feel-good), 'Saving Grace' (Brenda Blethyn is a genius) and 'Bring Up The Bodies' (really excellent historical fiction by Hilary Mantel).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking the West Highland Way: 100 miles from Milngavie to Fort William in Scotland. The best week with brilliant friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to be an actual English teacher, teaching 11-18 year olds, so I guess I should maybe mention that here! Definitely something I'd be willing to share, though as with most teachers I really love to learn too - I'm rubbish at languages and should be better, and I want to learn more physical skills (my juggling is getting pretty rusty) ...and I've never set foot on a surfboard!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My cooking! I can bake cake, bread, and things in between, usually to excessive quantities. As for dinner-food, one of my favourite things to do is to share the making process with friends and some good music.
I'm also super handy: if it's broken, I can often fix it.
