Overview
About Me
Seeking stimulating conversation (but also down to shoot the shit). Open to new experiences and perspectives. Curious about the world and always willing to learn something new!
California born and raised. Lived in San Diego for 8 years. Now back in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people, to be challenged, to learn
Interests
I enjoy jam sessions, reading (most genres, biographies, and ethnographies), longboarding, dancing (salsa, bachata, and swing), foosball, frugal
backpacking, singing a capella, cooking with loved ones, running in scenic areas, aimless exploration.
Music, Movies, and Books
Too many to list but a few I’m thinking about now:
Recently read & enjoyed: Becoming by Michelle Obama, Shrinks by Jeffrey Lieberman. The new Murakami novel is on my to-read list. For news I read the Atlantic, the NYT, the New Yorker, and random blogs.
Music: Chris Thile, Hilary Hahn, Regina Spektor, Ella Fitzgerald. Lots of classical
Movies: Just rewatched Inception. Nolan is a genius. Love the intensely imaginative intricate plot. The Edith Piaf “kick” song slowing down as they descend into different levels of the dream = mind blown
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ran a full marathon in Melbourne, Australia (but haven’t run one since :p)
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach/Share: violin, basic classical music trivia/fun facts (ask me about Rach 5), cooking
Open to learning about anything be it perspective, opinions, culture, history...Let’s see where the conversation goes!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Story swapping, grabbing coffee or tea, cooking a meal
