Hello. My name is Catarina, I'm 24 years old and I'm Portuguese. Since I was 15 years old, my dream has been to backpack through Southeast Asia. Southeast Asia has always enchanted me with its culture, people, food, nature, and the way everyone there appreciates the little things in life. I'm passionate about the sun, moon, sunset, sea, stars, rivers, people, animals, travelling, and life. Prioritizing my personal well-being and spiritual growth is very important to me, and I strongly believe in the power of kindness towards others. At the age of 18, I moved to another city to study and have been living alone since then, and I love my independence. I have a degree in journalism and a master's degree in marketing. I love everything that involves marketing and how it allows me to be creative and "think outside the box." I've worked in this field for a year and a half and have now decided to finally quit my job to pursue my dreams. I'm a photography enthusiastic too!

I'm now in Thailand. Next destination is Malaysia and Singapore. Then, maybe Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. But I'm still deciding. Need your tips ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I believe in the power of human connections. For me, traveling is not just about visiting places, but about meeting people and sharing authentic experiences. And Couchsurfing allows me to do just that: immerse myself in local cultures, make genuine friendships along the way, and create bonds that transcend borders. Music, Movies, and Books

I am passionate about romantic comedies, and two of my favorites are "Notting Hill" and "The Notebook," among many others.

As for music, I love classic rock from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of my all-time favorite bands, along with the Beatles, Dire Straits, Scorpions, and many more. But I also enjoy listening to more contemporary artists, such as Lana Del Rey and the Arctic Monkeys.

I am passionate about books that educate, particularly in the realms of psychology and finance. Exploring the depths of the human mind and understanding the complexities of money has always fascinated me.
