Overview
About Me
I’m not the best at describing myself haha but here it goes. I’m a 21yo Portuguese who majored in Languages, Literatures and Cultures. I was born in Lisbon but always lived in Setúbal, a cute city surrounded by wonderful nature that I would love to show you!
I’m always coming up with new ideas, whether is learning a new language or adding a new place to my bucket list. Besides I’m very enthusiastic about new places, new faces. The further I travel, the better.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and by traveling we get to make the most random, surprising friendships. I’m also passionate about cultures so what better way to understand each other than experience living like a native. I love the interaction between cultures and how much one can gain/learn from it. Besides I also have friends who had a really good experience with this platform so it’s my time to try it out!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
If I were to pick one amazing thing, it would be moving to Beijing for one semester abroad. I’ve been studying mandarin since my first year at university and when I was 20, I got a scholarship and moved to China. It was my first time living and traveling all by myself. Until then I didn’t really get the saying “experiences abroad broaden your horizons and can change you”. China did that to me. I came back with new goals, wonderful friends and great memories. From spending 30 hours in crazy chinese trains to the endless nights in Beijing or going down the river in Guilin, every bit of this experience was unforgettable. Going by myself to China was for sure the best thing I ever did...for now.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Portuguese from Portugal, which is quite different from Portuguese spoken in Brasil. I can also speak English, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin and try my best at German (that’s something to be afraid of though). Anything you want to know about Portuguese Culture, I’m more than happy to share! Learning wise, from cooking to languages, I’m already hyped :) I love getting to know the particularities of a certain culture such as the local sayings, customs and spots only the locals go to.
