About Me
Hi! I'm Catarina and I'm a 25 year old software developer at Siemens Portugal in Lisbon.
I'm currently finishing my masters in Electrical and Computers engineering.
Traveling and meeting people are the things I enjoy doing the most. I also love to cook, learn about other country's culture (particularly food) and their history.
Science, technology, wildlife and being outdoors are a big part of my life and interests as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because it is the most honest way to travel.
For me, it's the best way to get to know a culture without the overwhelming, often deceiving, touristic distractions. Sharing stories and backgrounds with the hosts is always the best part.
I have recently moved to a new place, and I should be able to start hosting travelers in the next few months. Unfortunalety I have not had the oportunity to host someone yet.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy listening to all kinds of music but will choose a particular kind depending on my mood. Most of the time I'll be listening to relaxed laid-back music. Buena Vista Social Club is a good example.
I love any of Nolan's movies, I enjoy them even more when Hans Zimmer does the soundtrack. It's currently the best director/soundtrack composer combination out there for me. I'm also a big fan of Tarantino, and Marvel movies (although some of them not so much).
Lately I've been reading a lot of southern american authors like Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Jorge Amado. Portuguese writers are also very good.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Portuguese southern west coast by bike.
Skydiving and watching the sun rising in the Sahara were also amazing experiences.
Teach, Learn, Share
Learning from other people's experiences and sharing my own is the best part of couchsurfing, specially over some good food and drinks.
If you're in Lisbon feel free to ask for advice on where to go and what to do. I might be able to show you around.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I always try to cook the host some portuguese food. Sometimes it's hard to find the right ingredients, but whenever it's possible I'll try to do it.
If you need anything from Portugal let me know and I'll try to take it with me.
