About Me

Hello! I'm Cat, a photographer and video game developer from the UK. Having spent the last year in New Zealand, Thailand and America, I'm now going to spend the winter in the UK focussing on my photography. I really enjoy travelling and meeting new people. My favourite activities are to go for long hikes with my camera and explore new places. I also like cosy nights in relaxing with friends. I'm quiet and tidy and creative. I love pets of all sorts, especially cats and dogs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel all around the world doing housesitting and staying with friends or at hotels/hostels. I'd love to get to know lots of people around the world and make friends as I travel.

Interests

I love photography and video game development. I also really enjoy hiking and outdoors activities. I love to play video games and board/card games with people. I generally like anything involving wildlife and nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes vary! I grew up listening to my Mum's Pink Floyd and David Bowie collection. These days I like anything from rock to metal, to acoustic and some electronic. I also really like movie/game soundtracks.

For books and movies - I tend to prefer thrillers, sci-fi or horror. That said, I watch all different sorts of movies! I also read quite a few books on art and photography.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travel around the world on my own, earning a living running my own business and trying to be as free as possible. I've been doing this for almost two years and I don't see me stopping any time soon! The nomad life is wonderful :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure what this section means. I have run workshops and tutorials on game development. I've also spoken at conferences to teach people new methods of game development. I'm happy to help teach people this as well as share my knowledge of photography.

I'd like to learn a lot from any hosts I visit, especially any tips on activities in the local area.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm travelling light, but have my own car in the UK. I have plenty of travel stories and experience I can share. I'm also happy to help out around your house in exchange for somewhere to sleep. If you would like any insight into game development or photography, let me know! :)
