About Me

Hello!
I'm Cate, a tarot-readin', doughnut-fryin', mountain-climbin', plant-lovin' vegan! I'm based out of Portland, Oregon, USA and enjoy being outside, milling around in new spaces and learning about other's lives. I strive to be as considerate, compassionate, and helpful wherever I go, and can often be found laughing! In my spare time, I enjoy roller-skating, crocheting, exploring delicious vegan meals, singing, and riding my bike. I'm hoping that I can improve my gardening skills over the summer and becoming more adept at plant identification.

Music, Movies, and Books

I watch a lot of historical and natural science documentaries; I can't say that I enjoy movies too much, but the Lord of the Rings trilogy are near and dear to my heart (additionally, the books are phenomenal!).

I could read any J.K. Rowling book and my inner child will eternally be satisfied. I also appreciate Kurt Vonnegut's work and can often be found rereading short stories from Welcome to the Monkey House.

Music, I think, is most important to my personal identity; some of my favorite artists include: Heart, Tiger's Jaw, Beach House, Slint, Black Sabbath, Alicia Keys, and Fleetwood Mac. The range of music I listen to, though, is vast and it's hard to pinpoint what I'll be enjoying day-to-day!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the middle of the PNW lake, on a rickety metal canoe, surrounded by the tallest evergreens, I got to experience a 99.98% solar eclipse, before wrangling a group of 100 kids to play tag at summer camp.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share laughter, some thoughtful exchanges, and a desire to make plant-based dinner !
