About Me

Hi there! I'm Cat, from Italy, but currently living and studying environmental science and sustainability in Dumfries. Love beautiful Scotland and its folk, but as an international person, I like to explore and familiarise with as many cultures as possible!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have couchsurfed in Ireland and Northern Ireland with some friends in 2015 and that was an experience I will never forget. Meeting people, sharing experiences and seeing cool places are the reasons why I decided to join in!

Interests

A bit before I got my degree in languages, I realised that what I really want to do is working in a farm or something nature-related. That is why I decided to take a gap year to explore the world, both outisde and within me!

This is what I know about me for the moment:

Creativity is foundamental and a way I use to express myself when words don't want to come out. Vintage is just a general word to say that I like to wear second-hand clothes both cause they have a connection with someone else's unknown story and because they're cool, eco-friendly and cheaper. Trees are life and it's our duty to protect them. Wwooffing should be part of school programs. The lion king was the first film I watched in English, and it just got better. I collect postcards from all over the world. I have studied in Bologna. My favourite way to spend my spare time there was 'graffitis-hunting': photographing any cool graffiti that gets on my way. I listen to music, dress up, wear makeup and drink beer according to my mood. And, love walking in the countryside. Last, but not least, I normally don't trust people who never contradict themselves (Yes, I contraddict myself quite often, but I'm pretty consistent in that).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surviving and enjoying an amazing week of wild camping on the Isle of Mull with a friend and a terrible flue!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach Italian language, Italian body language, culture and literature to everyone interested . And obviously I can show you how to make what made Italy famous all over the world: homemade pasta and pizza!

Learn: I am interested in learning about anything manual, gardening and farming. I'd love to learn how to be genuinely friendly and a little less shy if that's possible!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to share my time, ideas, experiences and more. Also, more practically, I like to make myself useful in helping you out with some little/big housework, like washing dishes, helping in the garden, tidying a clogged cellar, etc...

Countries I’ve Visited
