About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see, to explore, to experience, to be.

ABOUT ME

Welsh girl, lover of adventure, the outdoors, new experiences, travel and seeing how others live.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too important to be taken seriously - Oscar Wilde

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In London, we had lots of Spanish visiting for a few months and I had so much fun showing them around the city! And I love that couch surfing fully supports an approach to travel of gaining new insights, perspectives, authentic experiences and connections.

My main focus now is on practicing my French and gaining confidence in the language, so my goal is to meet and socialise with lovely French people with shared interests!

Interests

A dabbler, a tinker... Dilletante is a lovely word!

I switch hobbies frequently, presently teaching myself piano and loving the extreme sport that is London cycle commuting. Intend to do a long cycling camping tour at the end of the summer, such a massive sense of freedom. Skiing probably is worth a mention.. I've spent 4 seasons in France, 1 in New Zealand and am pretty much hooked for life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to mention! Ah ok let's do one of each:

Music: Ludovico Einaudi
Movies: Gladiator
Books: Flow

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tricky! "Wow" moment...probably galloping with Indians across Monument Valley. Solo sky dive, the scariest thing by far..but also learning to fly a light aircraft and doing loop-the-loops was pretty fun!

Being the guest of a Bedouin family, a rural Cambodian village, a Ghanaian chief, and Burmese Indians in the jungle have created some of the most amazing, insightful, joyful and at times surreal moments. These moments of connection are my true travelling keepsakes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty handy at a eclectic mix of things, and am a teacher/tutor by trade. Can share/teach/learn any academics, food, business, guitar, tennis, poetry, and how to travel the world ... camp counselling, tour guiding, skiing, woofing, private tutoring has taken me across 3 continents.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travel stories, good chat, glass of wine... and I am pretty handy in the kitchen!

Countries I’ve Visited
