My name is Catherina, I am 23 years old and I am currently on Erasmus exchange in Bordeaux.
I love to travel and meeting new people from around the world. In fact, often the best memories I have from my trips are those I shared with others and the unplanned, often absurd encounters with virtual strangers. I believe that the best way to experience a new place is with people be it with friends, family or others.
I am generally a very open person and enjoy finding humor in everyday situations. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, listening to music, playing guitar, and singing. I also love to climb and in general being outdoors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first experience with Couchsurfing was an Interrail trip with my friend. While traveling we collected great memories and stories in every city. This was largely due to the new people we met over Couchsurfing. Since then I have gone to events and made many good friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm enjoy most kinds of music but chances are you'll catch me listening to either 60s-70s rock, Indie music or Broadway soundtracks.
My favorite book is probably Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met two Irish dudes in a bar in Bordeaux who were traveling down to Portugal in their vans. As a joke (I think), they invited me to come down to Portugal with them and I took them up on the offer. We travelled together for a week.
I got bored on the bus up north and didn't want to go home so I spontaneously travelled from Spain to the French Alps and met a guy from Facebook. There I learned that I will pretty much run off a cliff with a practical stranger (aka paragliding) and that casual hikes can quickly turn into "Let's rappel down and take a bath in a waterfall (in December)"
