Overview
About Me
I'm an 28-year-old adjunct professor and writing/editing professional living in New York City. I love to explore new places and learn new things (doesn't everyone?). I'm a self-professed nerd—comic books, board games, and cosplay are my jam—and a fitness junkie. I'm also somewhat involved in the off-broadway music scene here in New York—I sing, play the flute, and am currently learning ukulele. When I can get out of the city, I enjoy outdoorsy activities and adventures. Food is one of my favorite things about being alive.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to get the local feel of a place—what better way than with staying with locals! Always down to make new friends :)
Someday I'd love to host on Couch Surfing, but my current living situation (four roommates in a small NYC apartment) doesn't really allow for it. Someday, though!!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like to say I was raised on the classics—classic rock and classical. I'm just as likely to jam out to Boston in my apartment as I am to enjoy a nice evening at the Philharmonic. I also have a love of singer-songwriters (especially as I'm friends with quite a few talented ones!) and a cappella music (my dad's been barbershop-ing since I was 10!).
Movies: Paul Thomas Anderson is my favorite director right now. Other favorites: Princess Bride, Singing in the Rain, Mad Max: Fury Road, Star Wars (original trilogy), High Fidelity, Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil
Books: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark, The Hobbit, Harry Potter
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my favorite adventures to date was when I was studying abroad in Australia. My friends and I had taken a weekend in Cairns, and they had shelled out for a big rafting trip that wasn't in my budget. So while they were gone, I rented a bike and cycled to Crystal Cascades, had a picnic, and hiked around. Not only was it beautiful and serene, but it was also the first time I had ever really pursued adventure by myself. I realized—from biking farther than I had before, navigating on my own, and taking complete control of my day—that I could do anything, that I was capable. It seems small, but that small adventure still means so much to me.
