About Me
Hello travelers :)
My name is Catherine, but I prefer to be called Kate since it has a more funky turn to it :p I am 22 years old and I am currently studying optometry at University of Montreal which I'm really proud of since I worked really hard to get in ! In Canada, there's only 2 optometry schools and only 200 students are admitted each year! Before getting in, I studied occupational therapy for 2 years. With that kind of study background you can probably tell that I'm a people person. I love to help people whenever I can. It makes me feel useful and that's always a good thing to think ;p Other than that, I love to meet new people and share opinions, get their take on the world and feel their vibe ! I think I have a pretty open mind and I'm always looking for ways to expand it. I'm always willing and looking for ways to try new experiences (sports, boardgames, pubs, ice cream flavour, anything) !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm currently traveling across the United States with my best friend ! We're doing a roadtrip from Montreal to California and back! We think couchsurfing is a really cool concept and we'd like to be part of the experience ! Of course, it's a cheap way to travel, but it's also a great way to meet new people and get a take on the way the locals live !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One year ago, I traveled to Hawaii on my own and even though I was scared at first, it was probably the best experience of my life ! I got to surf, to see the volcanos, I even weng skydiving on the North Shore of Oahu which was quite thrilling and the best part was that I got to meet so many amazing people from around the word. Doing all these things by myself that I never thought I would do made me gain so much confidence. That's one of the reasons I love traveling.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As I said above, couchsurfing is a great way to share experiences, stories, ideas with hosts. Of course, me and my friend would be more than happy to share a mesl or a drink with you as an aknowledgement of your hospitality if both our schedules agree :) We are both very respectful of people's personal space and promis not to disturb in any way.
