I'm a vet and PhD student at the University of Sydney. I've lived in the Himalayas for the last 10 years, mainly in India and Bhutan and love traveling around mountain areas.
I grew up on the beach in Queensland and love the ocean and swimming also.
I've been involved in animal welfare and public health programs in India for 15 years and still travel there yearly to run a veterinary animal health program each year in Bodhgaya, where the Buddha attained enlightenment.
I specialise in acupuncture, integrated therapies and palliative care for pets and work at the Bondi Vet Hospital where the tv show was filmed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and meet and stay with local people. I'm not a very good tourist and tend to avoid places filled with other tourists, cameras, and group tours. I prefer to walk the streets and observe what life is like for the locals. I enjoy meeting people, learning about their life, sharing stories and meals. This doesn't tend to happen in a hotel.
I've spent considerable amounts of time staying with other people in their homes and having people stay in my home- before the advent of online sites like this one. I love participating in old-fashioned hospitality and doing this via an online platform is an interesting modern touch to the tradition.

Interests

I am interested in anything to do with animals, integrated health, traditional medicine and the Himalayan traditions. I also love cinema and live performance. And of course food.... coffee..... good wine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've twice ridden my motorbike to Ladakh, crossing 7 of the world's highest motorable passes, glaciers, rivers and dodgy bridges. Scary but exhilarating.
