关于我
ABOUT ME
I am a passionate traveler, thinker, writer, and cook, always striving to make the best out of every experience that comes my way. I love people, I love to laugh, and to share stories, I'm usually easy going and easy to get along with, but get frustrated when I'm stressed out by logistics, and I can't stand talking badly about other people or disrespect. Other than those three things, not much else fazes me! I'm currently studying abroad, and will be doing some traveling for the Christmas holidays, hence the couch surfing. I'm looking forward to meeting new people, hearing new stories, and making new connections!
兴趣
I went to culinary school for a year as a break from college a few years back, and that experience intensified my love of cooking. When I'm at home running my own show, I love to host dinner parties for my friends and spend a lot of time in the kitchen. My friends joke that I'm the mama of the group, for everyone I know knows that if they come over, there will be something delicious to eat sitting on my counter or coming out of the oven. Other than that, I spend a lot of time reading and writing. I'm currently working on my first novel, and am taking many notes for another book I want to eventually write at the end of my time abroad. I like to sing, and am working on a couple of songs with my partner in crime in our little band, The Double Club. I'm also trying to learn guitar and a few martial arts moves.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
The first moment that I stopped struggling in turmoil trying to decipher every word of French was amazing for me. Over a period of two days, after I had been living in France for a few weeks, it seemed as though my brain just stopped trying to translate and started grasping the rhythm, cadence, and meaning of the language, whether or not I had heard the words before. At that moment, I was awestruck by the majestic power of our brains and the beauty of language.
One time in Colorado, a couple of buddies and I went hiking in the Puter Canyon. Since I was a city Texan with little grasp of what we would be doing in the big CO, I only had a pair of leather boating shoes with flat rubber soles. No tread, no grip, heinously inappropriate for the terrain. That being said, my guy friends led me to a place where they usually did a bit of rock climbing, and proposed that we ascend to the top. I had done rock climbing in gyms back home, but felt completely unprepared for this real-world outdoor experience I was about to undergo. With their encouragement, however, I fought my fears and slowly inched up the face of the rock jealously watching them clamber with agility ahead of me. At one point I got so scared I could not move, but after a few moments Brandon's head popped over a ledge, laughed, and pressed me onwards. When I finally made it to the top, the glorious beauty of the surrounding valley was overpowering, mixed with the overwhelming amount of adrenaline pumping through my veins. The climbing was both humbling and exhalting, the mountain inspired feelings of being so small yet so powerful, and the overall environment exploded upon all of my senses.
