Overview
About Me
Hey people of the world! My name is Cat. I am a peace loving individual who really does thrive on meeting and communicating with others. I am not "loud" as such, however, love a good chinwag and a boogie when the time is right.
Being a new teacher has taken up a lot of my life in the past two years. I love the job but boy is it great to have a little break. I teach kids, so of course love them.
I am a lover of the outdoors, and will take most opportunities to get out and be active. In saying that, sometimes there's nothing better than a cup of tea and a good Netflix sesh (few and far between this year!)
Growing up 100m from the beach, nothing calms me more than hearing waves on sand. I don't mind big cities but after a day of exploring you'll find me hunting down the nearest green patch or stretch of water. I love the countryside and big on nature.
What else? Hmm.
I guess it's worth mentioning my adventuring partner Simon, who you will also meet if We Couchsurf with you. We're a dual package this year after many years of living apart. We are both very individual but have many common interests like music, travel and love of sport and the outdoors. He should have a profile up by now you can check out too. A very chilled guy, believe me.
We are both omnivorous, but always willing to adapt to the situation and We both love vegetarian and vegan cooking.
I love dogs, and try my best to dislike cats as I can become quite allergic if I haven't had allergy tablets prior to contact. Love all other animals.
Mainly, I am open-minded and love learning new things and meeting new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This year my partner and I have decided to travel the globe. We are really excited about visiting all different countries, meeting lots of unique people and experiencing other cultures. Travelling for 12 months sounds like a long time but it is already flying by! We are wanting to couch surf to meet local people and see the world from their perspective.
Interests
Like I said, I love the outdoors and nature. I also love being physically active. I don't excel at any one sport or activity but love to ride a bike, swim, go for a bush walk and play any team sports that involve a ball.
I love travelling (duh) and meeting new people.
Love to read books.
I am interested in the psychology of children (but am no expert!)

Music, Movies, and Books
Love most music genres- pop, jazz, bit of rock, indie, classical. Depends on my mood! Not head banging stuff.
Movies- Shawshank Redemption, Gladiator, Pass it forward
Books - Cutting of the Stone, Wild (last two I read)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Trekked the Annapurna circuit in Nepal. Took us longer than expected because everyone got herendous food poisoning and altitude sickness. We made it though- I had blisters from day 3 and did most of it in sandles and socks (VERY COLD). Best experience!
Teach, Learn, Share
Looking forward to teaching, learning and sharing anything and everything. 😊
