About Me
ABOUT ME
Im from Melbourne but have been living in Hobart, Tasmania for the last 3 years, which is beautiful. I'll be heading to the UK to study circus full-time from January 2018 and spending some time travelling Europe prior to that. I started circus as part of a youth outreach initiative when I was a teenager and I am doing this course so I can use circus for youth and disability work in the future because I know how much of a positive life changing impact it has on me and my mental health and self esteem. Unfortunately it requires all my savings to pay for so I am living on bread and water while traveling. I think some of the best connections a I have made with people have come from "winging it" though so I am trying to trust in life and not worry about this too much.
I will be landing in Stockholm mid November 2017, going through Germany and the Netherlands and where ever else takes my fancy en route to London, hopefully just hitch-hiking and bussing. If you could show me some of what your country has to offer that would be fabulous, I've never been to Europe before. I'm interested in hiking mountains, wandering city streets, in-depth conversation, new foods, queer theory and social justice (but also kindness), hand crafts, rock climbing, dancing and performance art, learning new instruments, being in wild distant places, meditating and making art.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe strongly in mutual aid. If you have the ability to help someone out, make someone's life easier or improve their experience with your knowledge then I think you should without expecting anything in return except sincere thanks.
Interests
My main interests are ecology and the natural world, human rights, and personal growth. I also love anything to do with low tech/DIY/self sufficiency etc and would love to live a handmade life without electricity one day. Also into poetry, film, science, and circus. I definitely don't spend enough time on any of those things. I never want to stop learning and questioning and growing. One day I hope to feel like I did something good for the world...
