Firstly, thanks for checking out my profile and considering having me to stay!

So, about me... I went travelling when I was 18 and the urge to go again never left me. At the point of almost being completely settled with house and family, I decided to leave, sell everything and come see the world instead. I'm so glad I did! I left home in November 2015 and somehow I'm still going. I love my life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of the best bits about travelling is meeting new people and that's one of the main reasons why I've joined Couchsurfing. I would really like to meet people who can tell me more about the place I'm in, the culture, where the best places to go are and maybe share a meal or two. Of course, Couchsurfing helps save money too, which is a big bonus!

Interests

I love to travel (of course) and along the way; I like to meet new people, read anything and everything, walk, hike and explore, drink coffee and the occasional wine or beer, try new foods, swim in the ocean and chill out on the beach with new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - I love to read and I'll read pretty much anything I'm given. Ideally though I like something with a bit of fantasy; a good escape from reality.
Music - I'll listen to most genres of music depending on my mood. Maybe with the exception of heavy metal! I love live music and especially something I can sing along to
Movies - I enjoy everything from chick flicks to action to horror.. my only downside is I tend to fall asleep watching movies if I'm too comfy!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing is hard to think of but a couple of highlights would be:

Seeing a Blue Whale off the coast of Sri Lanka. I never thought we'd see one and I don't think the crew thought we would either. An incredible experience.

Seeing elephants in the wild... again in Sri Lanka. Beautiful!

Sailing around the Whitsunday islands and snorkeling and diving on the Great Barrier Reef for 4 days.

Eating the best food in the world (in my opinion) in Penang, Malaysia - you just can't beat it!
