About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To finally be set free and able to explore the world around me and enjoy it for what it is, giving back wherever I can.
ABOUT ME
I'm currently a retail trainee at an upper-class homewares store.
My family is Dutch, and there are many of them.
In November 2008 I went on exchange to Germany and found a new kind of love for travel!
When my apprenticeship is over, I plan to travel to Malaysia and China in March/April next year with my boyfriend Alex.
He's about as experienced as I am, in travelling, so it'll be interesting.
At the end of January, we're going to Rainbow Serpent festival with some friends. Sadly, back to work not long afterwards =(
We're currently in the process of investing in a new multi-cultural bar that a friend of mine owns. It's a couch-surfer's dream!
PHILOSOPHY
Stay open-minded and up for anything and everything.
Take advantage of the opportunities that come your way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm at a point right now where I'm not able to offer a couch, and with working full-time it's often hard to meet my own friends for a coffee, but with a good amount of notice I'm sure anything is possible =)
Not looking to surf anyone's couch just yet... give it a while.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have no experience! Yet...

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music from the 60s/70s/80s: Beatles, Cream, Yes, Jimi.
I also love music from my own era: SBTRKT, Joanna Newsom, Radiohead, Dizzee Rascal... a bit of everything, as long as it's not Lady Gaga.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 15 I applied to go to Germany on exchange for 10 weeks. When I was 16.5 I did it, and it was the best 3 months of my life :) My host family took me all over Germany, as well as a Christmas trip to Paris and a day trip to Salzburg. We did so many things in only 10 weeks and I made about 150 friends :) Insane. Then I went to Holland for 2 weeks and stayed with some relatives over there. They took me to all the good places like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, De Haag and Utrecht, and I even got to travel to Groningen (where my family originates from 3 generations ago) by myself :) Before this big independent trip, I went to New Zealand (road-tripped the entire country with my family when I was 13), Hong Kong (lived like a local for 2 weeks when I was 14) and Kuala Lumpur (just a tourist for 4 days). Every time I leave the country I get a huge rush as I know it's the start of a very memorable adventure, no matter where I'm going :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an alright cook, and a pretty good cleaner.
I'd love to teach someone how to play the uke =)
There's probably more that I can teach but something you can't slam into a category or put into words.
