About Me
CURRENT MISSION
go on my first adventure
ABOUT ME
I'm joining CS as someone who has never been out of the country (or even off the East Coast), which is absolutely ridiculous because I am a Global Studies major. I'm itching to travel.
I love cats, Gerber daisies, live music, pita chips, and the ocean. I'm a feminist and very politically-minded. I would love to work for an NGO or a non-profit (like CS...dare to dream) when I graduate.
PHILOSOPHY
I never want to put my life on hold for an anticipated future. I never want to say, "I'll do that later/when I can afford it/after I complete this task," because who knows how much longer I have? Who knows if this is not the last chance I have to do everything I've always dreamed of doing?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I plan on becoming a volunteer for the website, and I want to start going to local events to interact with travelers in my area. I can't host right now, since I live in a college residence hall, but I want to do that, too. All of this is pending, however, since I'm still new and have not yet surfed.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Bands I love: Radiohead, Say Anything, Vampire Weekend, Regina Spektor, The Avett Brothers, Passion Pit, Fleet Foxes, Phoenix, Land of Talk, The Beatles, Animal Collective, Lupe Fiasco, Pretty Lights, Sufjan Stevens, Nickel Creek, and Beethoven. My favorite books include East of Eden (Steinbeck), Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (Safran-Foer), anything by Kurt Vonnegut and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and all sequels (Adams).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This is the problem. I haven't seen or done anything amazing. I am in active pursuit of amazement.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you would like, I could discuss feminism and gender theory with you all day. I'm obsessed. It's my favorite soapbox, and I bring it out a lot. I think it's incredibly important that we all understand how we contribute to oppressive structures and try to fight it.
