Overview
About Me
Well, I am part of a relative big, loud and definetely warmhearted family.
Originally I am from a small town not far from Cologne but now I moved to Trier to do my master studies in psychology there.
My friends describe me as an active, jolly, oppen-minded and relaxed person.
I like to listen to music but also making it by playing guitar and singing.
Furthermore as a leader of a scout group I love to be in the nature and to organize activities for children and youth.
For more than a year now I was working for a youth welfare service which taught me a lot about different family's origins and cultures. The diversity of this job and my wonderful colleagues were what I enjoyed most.
Spending time with my family and friends and meeting new people is very worthful for me as I think that every meeting is inspiring. :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Last year my best friend and I wanted to make holidays together. As she had already experiences with couchsurfing, she introduced the concept of it to me which made me very curious and immediately convinced me to travel in that way. During our first couchsurfing trip in Konstanz we met a lot of friendly and open-minded people and we really enjoyed our time there. Being grown up in a welcoming family and having experienced a lot of hospitality in the different countries I have been, it is a pleasure for me to host guests from all over the world and give back what I received. Spending time with different people from different parts of the world is inspiring, educating and precious for me. I believe in humanity and that the world is one planet for all of us, so spending time together and being interested in each other helps us to connect people and understand different cultures.
Music, Movies, and Books
My passion are Jamaican Reggae-Dancehall rhythms but I am also open for Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Rock, Alternative and Oldies like Eric Clapton. Actually sharing music with other people and discovering new songs no matter which genre is what I appreciate and makes me happy.
To be honest I do not know a lot of movies. My friends always complain about that but I am always open for extra lessons in this field! :-)
I like movies, that are based on true stories such as "Desert Flower" but also funny ones and stories for reflection like "Intouchables" and "Serial (Bad) Weddings".
Biographies and also literature, that is based on a true story counted among the books that I prefer to read.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The heartiness and hospitality of the Gambians touched me very much because they were willing to share the little that they have with anyone and appreciated anything you gave to them.
When a friend of mine named his newborn daughter after me I was totally overwhelmed.
I will never forget the joy I felt that day. :-)
